Emissions cutting biodiesel supercar on sale next year A car that cuts on fuel consumption and carbon emissions while retaining the feel of a sports car such as Lamborghini is to go on sale next year.

The Trident Iceni, capable of reaching 60mph in 3.9 seconds, will be made available to the public next year, following £2.3 million of development.

Using "torque multiplier" technology, Norwich-based Trident Performance Vehicles, has managed to produce a car it claims achieves 70 miles per gallon and is capable of travelling 2,000 miles on a single tank of biodiesel.

A spokesman told the Daily Mail: "It's like having a Lamborghini without the cost or the damage to the environment.

"Electric cars are great for short distances but not really ideal for people who live in rural locations.

"The Iceni is incredibly economical on fuel, which is virtually unheard of in a car of that speed."

As well as achieving impressive fuel efficiency, the Iceni is also robust, requiring servicing only every 100,000 miles.
