An investment of £180,000 in renewable energy has enabled one Norfolk campsite to go green.Kelling Heath's site operator Blue Sky has installed solar water heating to provide hot water for the shower block - something that is expected to save around half a tonne of CO2.An efficient gas boiler has been fitted to "top up" the temperature in the winter, as well as a rainwater harvesting system to provide water with which to flush toilets and ground source heat pumps."This block will significantly reduce the environmental footprint of the holidaymakers staying here, making a holiday here a greener option," said Rufus Bellamy, environmental advisor to the British Holiday Home and Parks Association, who opened the new shower block.Elsewhere in the UK, a series of environmentally-friendly houses are to be built in Dorset, with 50 per cent of the development's energy being provided by renewable energy.
