A public inquiry into a proposed windfarm to be located between West Wratting and Balsham has been postponed, it has emerged.The windfarm would consist of 13 turbines, according to the Haverhill Echo. However, an inquiry which was set to take place in July has been pushed back by Renewable Energy Systems (RES), which has asked for the date to be postponed.The controversial windfarm is opposed by the Stop Wadlow Windfarm campaign group, which has applauded a recent request by the planning inspectorate for RES to provide additional data about wind speed and noise at the windfarm site.RES's website describes modern wind turbines as "surprisingly quiet" and has previously asserted that it "would not locate a turbine where it could cause statutory noise nuisance to local residents".It also states that the expected lifetime of a windfarm is around 20 years and that a typical modern 2.3-megawatt wind turbine can provide enough electricity to power over 1,000 homes.
