Prince Charles to speak on climate change

01 May 2008

Prince Charles to speak on climate change The Prince of Wales is set to address business executives on the subject of climate change at an upcoming summit in London, the Press Association has reported.

Prince Charles will be joined by prime minister Gordon Brown at the Prince's May Day Business Summit, which is designed to encourage business leaders in the move towards a low carbon economy.

It is thought the event will be attended by 160 chief executives and will be broadcast live to around 1,550 senior-level business representatives across the UK at 12 events that are linked to the London summit.

Discussions at the event will focus on measures that have been taken over the past year to cut carbon emissions and will also work to develop future strategies for green business.

In addition, it will reconvene the UK's largest climate change action group of businesses and organisations - the May Day Network - which includes the membership of 800 firms.

Today, a regional summit is set to be held in Manchester to discuss the impact of climate change on business operations in the north-west of England.ADNFCR-1235-ID-18576178-ADNFCR
