The Times: Insulation is an investment to consider

28 April 2008

The Times: Insulation is an investment to consider Homeowners looking to increase the energy efficiency of their property and cut fuel costs may wish to consider a number of different types of insulation, the Times suggested.

The newspaper recommended that loft insulation installed to a thickness of 270mm could save homeowners around £110 in heating bills per year and could reduce carbon emissions by up to one tonne.

It also suggested that cavity wall insulation could cut carbon emissions by around 750 kilograms and could save up to £90 per year.

As households account for around 27 percent of total carbon emissions in the UK, environment secretary Hilary Benn recently stated that people need to make changes in their living rooms and kitchens in order to help reduce their environmental impact.

Earlier this year, the Manchester Evening News reported that homeowners may wish to consider getting a free energy audit online to evaluate ways they can reduce the carbon footprint of their property.ADNFCR-1235-ID-18569816-ADNFCR

Discuss   UK AWARE sponsors do not necessarily need to be from a 'green' industry. They do, however, need to have a genuine concern for environmental matters and conduct business in an appropriate manner.
