Londons 10 Flagship Low Carbon Zones

While listening to a rather amusing presentation from Boris (Mayor of London) last Friday while attending HRH Prince Charles’s May Day Summit on Climate Change, i was informed that the GLA will be submitting £3 million to develop 10 Flagship Low Carbon Zones to cut emissions, create job and reduce bills. His hope is that that this initiative will stimulate competition between the Burroughs over who could be the most “Green!”
In reality it means that the GLA will contribute £200,000 per project in conjunction with local private investment.
Considering the limited budget it will be interesting to see which programs are considered.
As my interest is in building consortiums to deliver low carbon projects. I am curious to know what the readers of this web site would consider most appropriate / beneficial considering the scope and limited budget?
Thoughts please?
