Without doubt the introduction of feed in tariffs has an important role in delivering on the UKs carbon reduction targets. Like you I envisage that subject to the rates applicable to feed in tariffs being set at realistic levels that many households and small businesses in the UK will move to implement. In the meantime however, reducing levels of energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency of current systems and equipment are the essential pre-cursor to implementing renewable energy systems.
With long term fossil fuel derived energy supplies only set to rise, the business case for energy conservation and migration to renewable energy sources is rapidly establishing itself as an attractive investment opportunity in the UK.
