Deforestation And Climate Change

16 October 2008

Forests in the tropical belt play an essential role in the water, carbon and oxygen cycles of the planet. Deforesting these areas disrupts the carbon cycle by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide taken out of the atmosphere by photosynthesis and stored in the forests. Deforestation should be stopped to help avoid climate change.
