Profile:

I live in a stone-built 18th century watermill in the south of France and am hoping to make it as sustainable as possible. I'm interested in improving insulation, using solar power to generate electricity (possibly earning an income by selling it to EDF) and by reducing my reliance on the oil-fired central heating that currently keeps us warm through the short but rather chilly winters. So far I have built a fireplace in one lounge which burns locally sourced logs and this year I am installing a wood burning stove in the other lounge.
